The 2019 BAS/BSCR joint meeting at the BCS Congress, Manchester was held on 3rd-4th June.
This year’s John French lecture was given by Dr Helle Jørgensen from the University of Cambridge, titled “Smooth muscle heterogeneity and plasticity”.
Young investigators had multiple chances to present at the conferences. Four young investigators competed in a joint BCS/BAS/BSCR session. In a new session this year, the top-rated abstract submissions were presented as short talks in a ‘best of the best’ session with the best poster prizes judged in the final afternoon session.
