The British Atherosclerosis Society (BAS) has received a major donation from the Binks Trust. The donation is specifically intended to encourage, recognise and support the atherosclerosis-related research of young investigators from the laboratories of BAS members in the UK.
The award will cover travel and accommodation costs for young investigators to visit different laboratories within or outside of the UK. This will enable the investigator to gain new laboratory skills and experience working in a different environment.
Up to £3,000 will be awarded to cover economy class travel and accommodation whilst visiting a different laboratory. Laboratory and consumables expenses are not covered as part of this award. A commemorative certificate will be presented to the selected investigators at the Autumn BAS meeting.
There are no citizenship or age restrictions. Applicants must be currently based within the UK in the laboratory of a BAS member. Candidates must be in training for an atherosclerosis-related higher degree (PhD, DPhil, MD or MSc) or received their higher degree in atherosclerosis-related research no more than 3 years prior to submitting their application.
Please submit your application form (below) and 2 page curriculum vitae by email attachment to the Secretary of the BAS (Jason Johnson: Jason.L.Johnson@bris.ac.uk).
